Call for Testers! The Driehoek Dress

Can I say that this summer has been AMAZING for my productivity???

I can’t believe how much stuff I’ve accomplished in so few weeks.  Alabama has definitely been great for my creative mojo.  All my sketches and ideas that were trapped for what seemed like forever, suddenly came to life in the few short weeks we’ve been here in our empty-ish little apartment in Huntsville.  I don’t know if I’m just suddenly stuffed full of yummy food and that’s helped or if I’ve eliminated many of my day to day distractions by being here.  Whatever it is, it’s been good to me.  And good to Girly’s wardrobe since she directly benefits from my patterns.

Triangle-1 The Driehoek Dress is a super Mod, short, slightly swingy dress with an interesting twist on regular armscyes.  Instead of being boring and rounded, they are angular and point to a little flat bow at the center of the chest.  The back utilizes an invisible zipper (my favorite of all closures) that makes a streamlined and simple back.

The Driehoek Dress is a short, above knee style that allows for easy movement and play without getting in the way.  The cut gives enough movement that your little one can easily wear bloomers or bike shorts underneath.  Girly is wearing yoga/cheer style shorts under the dress in the picture.

Triangle-3I made this dress out of linen look from one of the chain fabric stores.  It has a nice subtle texture and feel to it and lends itself to simple garments like this dress.  Other woven, heavier weight fabrics  such as twill or bottom weights would work as well.

The pattern is available in sizes 12mo to 12yr and uses .75-1.5 yds of 54″ fabric (a little more for 42″ fabric).
